MIDDLE REGION–Bandits tied up two persons in their home on Sunday afternoon, stole two flat-screen televisions and drove off in a silver Hyundai Tucson belonging to the homeowner. Police searched the area, but were unable to spot the vehicle or the suspects.
Police spokesman Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said on Sunday evening that at 2:45pm the Emergency Dispatch received a call of an armed robbery that had just taken place at a home on Ellis Drive in Middle Region.
“Police patrols, Special Robbery Unit and paramedics were sent to the scene to investigate what had taken place. On the scene the investigating officers spoke to one of the victims who stated that shortly before he and his son were in the house when two unknown men with their faces covered stormed into the house with a handgun and threatened to use the weapon.
“The other suspect tied both father and son up and at the same time struck the father with the butt of the gun to his head. The suspects stole two flat-screen televisions and fled the scene with a 2017 silver-coloured Hyundai Tucson belonging to the victim,” said Henson.
The area was completely searched, but neither the suspects nor the vehicle were located. The injured victim was treated by paramedics on the scene.
The Special Robbery Unit is investigating this case.
