Be The Change salutes White and Yellow Cross

PHILIPSBURG–Be The Change Foundation spotlights a different organisation each month and donates funds to a project. The organisation spotlighted for July was White and Yellow Cross Care Foundation’s Sister Basilia Centre. Be The Change Foundation members visited Sister Basilia Centre to present the donation.

White and Yellow Cross Care Foundation provides guidance and assistance for the elderly and disabled in the various districts in St. Maarten. The Foundation also caters to the less fortunate by providing food baskets every other month. It also seeks job opportunities for those who are intellectually disabled.

The special project Be The Change supported in July was a fun educational field trip for the clients and staff of Sister Basilia Centre; clients who are intellectually and physically disabled. This project allowed clients and staff to interact with others in nature by experiencing the thrill of weightlessness while zip-lining through the trees.

Clients and staff also had the opportunity to enjoy hydrotherapy in the pool on location. Clients also took part in an onsite lunch, where they tasted the flavours of the French side of the island, according to a statement from Be The Change Foundation on Tuesday morning.

Be The Change is proud to help support such worthwhile foundations and projects in the community.
