Nature Foundation, Environmental Protection in the Caribbean (EPIC) and Mason Chadwick’s “A Bit at a Time” initiative executed another clean-up along the Simpson Bay coastline on Sunday.
Some 70 volunteers, including Coast Guard officers, collected the largest amount of trash of any event organised under this venture. Little Key islet and the Lagoon section across from the airport entrance up to Sixt Car Rental were scoured clean. This resulted in eight fully-loaded large trucks of trash and hurricane debris.
The Ministry of Infrastructure VROMI assisted with hauling away the debris and trash. Island Water World donated heavy-duty gloves, reusable bags and T-shirts for volunteers. Mullet Pond is the venue for the next clean up on February 24.
