PHILIPSBURG–The small business entrepreneurship programme initiated by Stichting Overheidsgebouwen (SOG) will continue during the third week of May and interested vendors are requested to contact the Festival Village management before no more booths are available.

Several booths have already been signed up from the third week in May to March 15, 2019. Vendors have the opportunity to get a booth in Festival Village and to sell their products to the public. The programme is aimed to stimulate entrepreneurship and more usage of St. Maarten Festival Village, while offering vendors the opportunity to sell their products such as drinks, foods, arts and crafts, etc. The vendors will be allowed to have booths, tents or table spaces for vending for a small monthly fee.

SOG, which is charged with the management of St. Maarten Festival Village, encourages persons within the community to become involved in the programme, which runs daily, by registering to become a potential vendor or by participating in the entertainment programme. There will be no entrance fee to enter St. Maarten Festival Village during the programmes hosted by SOG.

When there is a concert or any other type of event in the Village organised and hosted by a private entity or group, or an event organised by a private group or entity and hosted by the private entity in collaboration with SOG in the Village, an entrance fee will be charged to persons wanting to attend these concerts and other events.

Promoters are also encouraged to contact SOG if they would like to use the Village for their events throughout the year. Affordable packages have been put in place for promotors who are willing to work with vendors during the duration of the programme. The population is urged to become involved by visiting and supporting the vendors.

The programme allows the public to eat in the largest kitchen in the Caribbean. Additional information can be obtained at St. Maarten Festival Village between 9:00am and 5:00pm, or by calling 522-1145 or 543-0506/07.
