COLE BAY–The 37th edition of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta is ready to go and organisers at the St. Maarten Yacht Club are actively finalising the last details. Budget Marine is providing the event with much-needed AB dinghies and Tohatsu outboards. As the local dealer for Gill merchandise, Budget Marine will also be on site at the St. Maarten Yacht Club and at all party locations with the Gill Regatta Gear.
Regatta Director Michelle van der Werff said on Tuesday, “Budget Marine understands the specific needs of this event and is always creatively thinking alongside us to solve the problems that arise. The partnership with the event goes back many years and that is something that should be valued.”
Budget Marine has been a part of the Heineken Regatta in one capacity or another since its inception. Initially the support comprised mainly behind-the-scenes help and as the event grew more professional over the years, the partnership also grew.
Budget Marine officially became a sponsor more than a decade ago when the event added the Commodores Cup. “Since then we have shared the same goal’, which is to promote sailing on the island of St. Maarten and to spread the word globally about the event, the island and the marine industry available here,” stated Ellen van Holland-Little of Budget Marine.
The line of branded technical apparel gives sailors high quality sailing gear designed specifically for the warm-water racing in the region. “We are also ready to assist competitors that need to replace broken equipment or pick up last minute items.” Van Holland-Little said.
