PHILIPSBURG–The Robbery Special Unit is investigating three armed robberies that occurred this past Monday and Tuesday.
The first robbery took place at Burger King on Union Road at approximately 10:35pm Monday. Two unknown men stormed into the establishment with a gun and a machete and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. After committing this act they fled on foot, according to police on Wednesday.
The second and third robberies were committed around the same time by four armed men dressed in black at Great Bay Supermarket and Vanke Supermarket, both located on Long Wall Road, at approximately 9:00pm Tuesday. The men stormed into the establishments with guns and robbed them of undisclosed amounts of cash. Afterwards the criminals fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
