PHILIPSBURG–On Tuesday, September 27, when 35-year-old Jermaine James, heard the four numbers – 1,3,1,0 – being drawn in Caribbean Lottery’s Pick 4 game, he was beyond elated.
His elation was due to the fact that those were the numbers he had selected for his Pick 4 ticket that he purchased at Old Silk Restaurant, making him the winner of US $20,000.
When James, a butcher by profession, was asked how he felt about his winnings, he said he felt “elated and excited.”
Participating in the games of Caribbean Lottery is something he takes pride in doing, as he says he purchases tickets each day for Lotto, Lucky Pick, Pick 3 and Pick 4. This win is not his first, as he has already won US $1,000 twice and US $250 in previous Caribbean Lottery games since he began playing in 2005. “I play it for fun, hoping to win,” James said. He intends to use his cash prize to pay off his debts and his outstanding bills “and bank the rest.”
Caribbean Lottery said it is pleased to have awarded James with his winnings. “With a consistent stream of wins in its suite of games available in St Maarten – Super Lotto, Lucky Pick, Pick 3, Pick 4, and a variety of Instant Scratch Games – players have been able to secure impressive prize winnings to put in motion some of the things that they have wanted to do for a long time,” the company said in a press release on Thursday.
James believes this victory reinforces the need for him to continue playing the games of Caribbean Lottery. Additionally, he has some advice for other Caribbean Lottery players: “Keep on trying. It works for me and it can work for you, too.”
