Captain’s Rib Shack to provide meals to Leonald Conner pupils on Fridays | THE DAILY HERALD

CAY BAY–In an effort to give back to the community, Dino “Captain D” Arrundell of Captain’s Rib Shack will be providing warm meals to more than 260 pupils and staff of the Leonald Conner School (former Lionel Conner School) in Cay Hill every Friday.

The “Captain’s Rib Shack Community Programme” began last week Friday and will continue every Friday. For the first meal, pupils received roasted chicken, rice and peas, steamed vegetables and a fruit. Arrundell said in a video message on his Facebook page that pupils will not be served any sugary treats; only water, warm meals, vegetables and fruit.

Arrundell said he wanted to become more involved in community service, as he had been fortunate for the past seven years. He began going into the community to see where he could give back more and his team is happy to work with Leonald Conner School.

The school was chosen because it is located in the general vicinity where Arrundell runs his business, is the largest school in the area and is closest to his establishment. He said it is his pleasure to give back and to provide warm meals to the school every Friday. He said there is still a lot of suffering in the community and the most vulnerable are children, and he is more than happy to be there to help.

Anyone who wishes to donate to the weekly cause can do so by contacting Arrundell or his wife.
