PORT–Cruise ship Carnival Vista will be in port tomorrow, Tuesday, instead of Thursday. The visit comes as a result of Tropical Storm Isaac’s forecast track.
Carnival Vista will also call on St. Kitts, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Amber Cove before returning to Miami on September 16. The original itinerary, prior to the development of Isaac was departure from Miami, Florida, call at Grand Turk Island, San Juan, St. Kitts and St. Maarten.
Carnival Vista will be in port on Tuesday together with Celebrity Equinox. This will be followed by a three-ship Wednesday with Harmony of the Seas, Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Ecstasy scheduled to be in port. Cruise lines are also redirecting their ships to avoid the path of Hurricane Florence as it begins to bear down on the United States.
Carnival Cruise Line said Sunday that it had changed the schedule of its cruise ships to accommodate tropical weather threats. Carnival Pride was scheduled to leave Baltimore and head to Bermuda during a week-long cruise. Instead, the ship will now head to The Bahamas.
The company also said that Carnival Horizon has cancelled plans to visit San Juan in Puerto Rico on Sunday. It is expected to arrive in New York on Sept. 13.
