PHILIPSBURG–The surviving victim of the Casa Blanca parking lot murder case has been flown to the Dominican Republic for further treatment. The Daily Herald understands that the young man was in critical condition and had to be revived several times before staying conscious, before being transported for further operation.
Police patrols responded at 6:00pm Saturday, December 22, to calls of a shooting in the parking lot of Casa Blanca Night Club on Oyster Pond Road where two persons were seriously wounded.
On the scene the investigating officers encountered two men who were bleeding severely from gunshot wounds to their upper bodies. Paramedics immediately went to work giving the victims first aid, but one of the victims stopped reacting to the treatment and died on the scene. The second victim was transported in critical condition to St. Maarten Medical Center where he was immediately taken to the operating room.
The crime scene was immediately cordoned off by the investigating officers for detectives to speak to potential witnesses and for the Forensic Department to collect evidence. What exactly took place is still being investigated.
