Causeway Jump-Up will kick off Carnival 50 today | THE DAILY HERALD

PHILIPSBURG–St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) and its main sponsor TelCell are ready to go for the annual Causeway Jump-Up today, Saturday. This will be the first official pre-Carnival event for the Carnival 2019 season.

Starting at 8:00pm, the jump-up is scheduled to feature five bands and two deejays, giving SCDF an impressive seven big rigs and support vehicles on the road for its first event. The bands listed to be on the road are TG Band, 4M Band, ZTB, The Big Bad XP and Skilful Band. DJ Pauly will be back with the KFC truck, and DJ SoSo will be on the other deejay truck on the road.

The jump-up will begin along the stretch from the entrance of Pelican to the Simpson Bay bridge and make its way down the Simpson Bay stretch, Airport Boulevard, over the causeway, through Cole Bay via Union Road and Welfare Road until it comes to an end in front of Soggy Dollar Bar.

At Soggy Dollar, TelCell and SCDF will host an after party where persons in attendance can win a Carnival season pass and other gifts from TelCell. Entrance to the after party is US $5.
