A driver who had been overtaking another vehicle and speeding on Welfare Road around 2:58am on Saturday, lost control of his vehicle in the vicinity of Caribbean Cinemas Megaplex and collided into the CIBC FirstCaribbean Bank’s concrete sign.
The road was wet at the time of the accident. The accident resulted in a fire blaze at the bottom of the engine and the engine appeared to be dislocated from the vehicle. It appeared as though the driver was spared any serious injury.
Another person assisted him to get out of his vehicle and he was then transported to St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC). Photo shows the scene of the accident.
