Central Bank warns of fake NAf. 100 bills | THE DAILY HERALD

WILLEMSTAD–Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten (CBCS) has established that false 100 Netherlands Antillean guilder notes are being circulated in Curaçao.

The counterfeit bills are said to be of such quality that the difference is hard to detect. CBCS published a series of details to look for that can be found on the website of the joint monetary authority of the two Dutch Caribbean countries.

The public is urged to be alert and refuse the bills when in doubt, but also call the police. Knowingly paying with fake banknotes carries a maximum prison sentence of nine years.
