PHILIPSBURG–Minister of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure VROMI Angel Meyers says he expects to receive the advice from the Corporate Governance Council (CGC) this week on the candidates whose names were proposed to take up the top posts at utilities company GEBE.
Meyers told reporters at a Council of Ministers’ press briefing on Wednesday afternoon that the Council had requested some additional information and this had been provided. He declined to provide details on what sort of additional information had been requested. Meyers said “anytime this week” he expects the advice from CGC.
The names of several candidates to take up the top positions at GEBE had been submitted to CGC sometime back.
Finance Manager at GEBE Andrew Zagers is temporarily filling the manager’s post at the company pending the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and management team. Zagers has temporarily held the post in the past in the absence of managers. The manager’s position became vacant after the abrupt resignation of William Brooks as temporary manager less than two months after he was appointed to the position.
In addition to CGC, National Security Services VDSM is also screening the candidates. The status of the process at VDSM could not be ascertained.
In the meantime, the shareholder had indicated it was moving ahead with plans to sack the members of the Supervisory Board. The status of this process also could not be determined
