COLE BAY--CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank opened the doors of its new “ultramodern” Finance Centre in Cole Bay on Tuesday, with senior executives pledging a continued commitment to clients in St. Maarten.


The Center is located in the Laguna View Professional Centre on Welfare Road in Cole Bay. The centre features multi-services in loan sales and solutions, offering platinum and business banking services to clients and an enhanced level of service, convenience and value, the bank said. Along with this, the bank has also invested in its people. “We continue to invest heavily in training our most valued asset – our people. This year alone we have completed region-wide training for our Platinum Bankers and Mortgage Specialists. Many of our staff have also benefitted from leadership and coaching training and training in Sales and Business Banking. All our retail staff was also trained this year in delivering an excellent client experience,” Managing Director, Retail and Business Banking at CIBC Mark St. Hill said.
“When we open our doors to you our clients, we are in a sense, inviting you into our ‘home’ and we will continue to invest in creating modern, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing banking spaces that add to the joy of doing business with us,” he continued,
Country Head, Heidi Getrouw echoed similar sentiments as she welcomed guests. “You, the customer, are the reason why we are here and we will continue to seek out new and creative ways to ensure that your every point of contact with us is one characterized by extraordinary service,” she said.
Chief Executive Officer, Gary Brown, launched the bank’s new user-friendly mobile banking app for smartphones; now available in St. Maarten. “Your banking can now be done from the palm of your hands. Which gives you access to our banking services from the convenience of any hand-held mobile device – android, blackberry or apple iPhone. Combine this new app with our online application process and paperless statement delivery and you have a best in class digital banking service for the tech-savvy who are always on the go,” Brown said.
The app can be downloaded from the Google playstore, the Apple store and Blackberry World. Clients must be signed on to the bank’s internet banking service to access their banking information via the app.
He told attendees that the Finance Centre is one more example of how the bank is investing in its business, retraining and retooling its professionals to offer a superior level of service to every client who comes through its doors. “This office has been re-purposed specifically to satisfy requests from many of our customers for a dedicated facility to provide tailored services to our corporate customer base and individuals coming in to apply for a loan. Our Retail, Business and Platinum banking customers both local and international will be given special care here. It features an expanded Loan and Mortgage Centre specialising in loan sales and solutions and convenient and confidential client meeting spaces.”
CIBC said clients are welcome to visit the new Finance Centre in Cole Bay. Retail clients can continue to use the Philipsburg branch for all of their personal banking services. The bank said it also continues to offer 24-hour banking via its Automatic Banking Machines (ABMs) and internet banking.
