POND ISLAND–The Civil Registry Department reopens to the public today, Wednesday, after more than a week shut down due to a government-wide cyber attack. All services, except for Driver’s Licence and Identification Cards will be available.
To cater to clients with appointments affected by the forced halt to services, the department has arranged for new dates.
People whose appointments were on April 3 and 4 will be catered to today along with those with an April 11 appointment.
All appointments for April 5 and 6 will be handled on Thursday along with the already booked appointments that day.
Those who had appointments on April 9 and 10 can be assisted at the building on Pond Island on Friday along with people whose date is April 13.
Clients with appointments on all dates are urged by the Department to be punctual as per their original appointment times.
The Civil Registry Office in the Simpson Bay Public Service Centre will issue registration forms only today and Thursday to clients with appointments from April 3 to April 10. Walk-ins are welcomed. The opening hours in Simpson Bay are 8:30am to 12:00pm and 1:00 pm to 4:30pm.
Services related to the Receiver’s Office (Philipsburg and Simpson Bay branches) will resume as normal with opening hours from 8:30am to 2:45pm.
The Receivers’ Office in Philipsburg only will be open on Saturday, April 14, from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
Services related to Economic Licences will also resume as normal as of today.
Clients of the Department of Social Services and Labour Affairs will be contacted by a representative of the related departments.
