MARIGOT–The Préfecture has sent out a reminder that distribution of the Cohésia pre-paid debit card by the Public Finance Center ended on January 15, 2018, and the time limit to use the funds is fixed for January 31, 2018.
It noted that following receipt of the activation code, a period of three to five days is needed before the money can be accessed.
The Préfecture indicated 5,738 Cohésia cards were made available by the Public Finance Center for those families in most urgent need in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.
The card has a value of between 300 and 900 euros depending on the composition of the family; 300 euros for an adult and 100 euros for a child, up to a maximum of 900 euros per family.
The purpose of the card, which can only be used in the French territory, is to purchase essential items to sustain life such as food, water and medications. It will no longer be valid after January 31, 2018.
