Collectivité serves notice to owners to remove abandoned or wrecked vessels | THE DAILY HERALD

MARIGOT–The Collectivité notes that more than a hundred vessels in a wrecked or abandoned state are still present on the territory over a year after the passage of Irma in September 2017.

Formal notices have been sent to owners, the ones that are known and contactable. Apart from some dismantling and even thefts, many vessels still remain, posing a potential danger to the safety of persons and property, the protection of the surrounding natural environment and the exercise of maritime, coastal or port activities.

All owners of these vessels and wrecks are requested to take all necessary measures to eliminate the risks and remove these vessels or wrecks from public property within a period of one month from the date of signature of the notices.

These notices will be widely distributed and displayed at the Port, the marinas and on each of the vessels concerned in the presence of a Bailiff from Cauchefer and with the assistance of the Nautical Brigade of the Gendarmerie and Jonathan Boat Services (JBS) company.
