Collectivité starts back with condemned buildings work | THE DAILY HERALD

MARIGOT–The Collectivité informs residents of the resumption of asbestos removal work on the Collectivité’s buildings at the Nina Duverly School and the former Legal Center on Rue de la Liberté. It should be noted that asbestos removal work is subject to special monitoring.

The work is carried out in sealed areas, under vacuum, the exhaust air being filtered by a system of double filtration extractors and includes air analysis in the work area, air analysis in the vicinity of work areas, and analysis of exhaust air from extractors.

Following the asbestos removal work, the deconstruction work on these two buildings, which were severely damaged by Irma, will be carried out. Specific means of protection will be implemented to reduce dust by misting and protection to contain the gravel and rubble.

The Collectivité apologizes for the inconvenience caused to the neighbourhood during the work period.
