~ Recruitment for new board to start ~
PHILIPSBURG–Members of the managing board of utilities company GEBE will continue in their positions for the next six months as efforts are made to recruit a new board for the company.
During an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholder on Monday afternoon, the Council of Ministers took a decision to extend the contracts of the managing board of directors for a period of six months. The contract extensions will begin on November 1.
Based on the resolution of the Council of Ministers, Kenrick Chittick will continue as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) while Iris Arrindell-Smith will remain Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Veronica Jansen-Webster will stay on as Chief Operating Officer (COO).
The Council of Ministers has requested that the supervisory board proceed with the process of recruiting a management board. “It is important to note that the recruitment process is open to the current members of the management board and other interested persons in the community,” it was stated in a press release issued on Monday evening.
The Council of Ministers has also requested that the supervisory board to provide the management board with the necessary tools to improve their skills and qualities as outlined in an evaluation report.
The release on government’s decision came almost five hours after The Daily Herald posed a number of questions on the issue to Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure VROMI Minister Christopher Wever, enquiring about the status of the contracts of the managing board of GEBE, when the contracts of the existing board members would come to an end and whether the contracts would be renewed, amongst other questions.
