St. Maarten’s culinary team shared a taste of home with foodies in Miami, Florida, at the Caribbean305 event, hosted by Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) on Saturday. The team prepared Cultural-Rama (saltfish and tostines) and a white dark chili coconut rocher, accompanied with some delicious Guavaberry Colada. The annual event highlights the art of Caribbean cooking. Tourist Bureau Head Rolando Brison, who is with the team, said, “We have world-class chefs on St. Maarten, and we are always proud to expose them to the world and let the world know why our island is the culinary capital of the Caribbean.” Teams from 15 countries are competing in the ongoing Taste of the Caribbean of which Saturday’s event was a part. The local team is supported by Government, via St. Maarten Tourist Bureau and St. Maarten Hospitality and Trade Association (SHTA).
