Custody officers complete one-day training exercise | THE DAILY HERALD

ANGUILLA–Ten officers within the Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF) completed a one-day training exercise in prisoner custody care and documentation on Thursday, August 23. The training was geared to heightening officers’ awareness of the role and responsibilities entrusted to them in their capacity as custody officers. The training was facilitated by Commissioner of Police Paul Morrison and Public Media Relations Officer Randy Dick.

Reportedly the sessions were highly interactive and the officers reacted positively to the training. Many questions were addressed in relation to standard operating procedure.
It was noted that the officers are now in a better position to deal with detained persons and know the legal and humanitarian documentation and conventions surrounding detained persons.
The RAPF is soon to implement a fully electronic custody register system which will complement the ongoing refurbished custody block at the prison.
