ST. EUSTATIUS–This year’s edition of Mega D Youth Foundation’s (MYF’s) Mega Musical Experience, which will take place Saturday, February 24, will feature the launch of the Dare 2 Care Campaign.
The Campaign to raise awareness of domestic violence and to bring children, parents and families together is collaboration between the Governments of the Netherlands and St. Eustatius, Care Partners and MYF.
MYF Director Dion “Mega D” Humphreys said that world-famous reggae artiste Tarrus Riley and legendary Latin singer Tito Puente Jr. will be the headliners for this event.
Statia’s very own Soca Monarch King ‘’Face’’ from Rebels Band HD will also be appearing, as well as special guest “La Muñeca de la Salsa” Melina Almodóvar.
Mega D said the event will be filled with special presentations, guest performances and surprises, as well as free giveaways by telecommunication companies Eutel and TelCell.
The evening will also feature a collection of deejays: DJ Sense, DJ Bemba and DJ Pleasure.
Genilio “ShowTime” and Teena “Presha Gyal” Lopes will host the star-packed evening.
For the first time, St. Eustatius Tourism Development Foundation (STDF) will be hosting their Taste of the Culture at this event. The culinary event, which is usually held every last Thursday of the month, will now be held on Saturday instead.
The festivities will continue on Sunday, February 25, with a Family Fun Day, in which families will be involved in a friendly competition against each other with cool games and sports. This event will take place in the NuStar playground.
