Disney cruises to return in January

POINTE BLANCHE–Cruise ship Disney Fantasy will return to St. Maarten next month. The ship will make several calls here also in February and March.

The expected return of Disney is hailed as “a major accomplishment for destination” by Tourism and Economic Affairs Mellissa Arrrindell-Doncher on Tuesday. “This shows great confidence in the destination.” 

  She thanked Disney Cruise Line for being “a great partner” as the country continues to rebound from the hard hit of Hurricane Irma.

  “Despite what we recently went through with hurricane Irma, we aim to maintain St. Maarten as a premier destination of choice for cruise visitors through meticulous planning, new experiences and a commitment to excellence,” she added. 

The Minister commended St. Maarten Tourist Bureau Head Rolando Brison and Business Development Officer at Port St. Maarten Alexander Gumbs for their role in ensuring Disney returns to port. “It is important to highlight the efforts of St. Maarten’s young professionals who together with all stakeholders will lead the revitalization and re-invention of our cruise product,” the minister said.
