PHILIPSBURG–Dow’s Musical Foundation presents 50/50 Pan Jazz Fundraising event by the Ebony Steel Orchestra’s seven-member jazz ensemble at Axum Art Café in Front Street, Philipsburg, on Saturday, March 30, and Sunday, March 31, at 9:00pm sharp.

Ebony Steel Orchestra’s jazz ensemble features Natalie Bristol, Devon Sceete, Tyler Percival, Rogelio Bute, Darren David, Frederick York and Isidore “Mighty Dow” York.

“Our foundation continues to raise funds for our planned travel during this year 2019 where we will be competing, and for the cost of much-needed instruments as we preserve the art of steel pan as a cultural and educational instrument on St. Maarten,” York said.

Axum Art Café will come alive as the venue for this event, offering a cosy and intimate atmosphere to a limited audience of only 50 persons each performance.

The entrance fee for the 50/50 special is US $50, with one complementary drink included. The first seating is on March 30, and the second seating on March 31, with an additional performance especially arranged with participating hotels, for guests, or anyone interested, which is scheduled for an afternoon seating, on March 31 only, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

A shuttle service will be available for the March 31 afternoon show for five persons or more with confirmed reservations.

“We’re looking forward to your attendance in support of this fundraising endeavour. Axum will not be the same after this one. See you there,” said York.
