PHILIPSBURG–The Managing Board of utilities company GEBE has appointed Patrick Drijvers as the coordinator of the company’s disaster preparedness committee.

GEBE said Drijvers is no stranger to the community. A Mechanical Engineer by profession, Drijvers played a key role in the assessment and restoration of GEBE’s facilities after Hurricane Irma in 2017.

An avid sportsman and a long-time employee of GEBE, Drijvers holds the position of Assistant Manager within the Distribution Department, and is charged with overseeing the Planning, Engineering and Execution of projects at the company’s water distribution network. “His in-depth knowledge of the electricity and water network and his overall 21 years of experience in NV GEBE make him fully capable of executing our Hurricane Contingency Plan in the event of a storm,” GEBE said in an announcement on its Facebook page on Tuesday.

“The Managing Board has full confidence in their appointment of him as coordinator of the NV GEBE Disaster Preparedness Committee,” GEBE said.
