Drunk passenger removed from Delta aircraft, fined | THE DAILY HERALD

AIRPORT–An aggressive and severely intoxicated 36-year-old American man with the initials A.S. had to be removed from a Delta aircraft around 3:00pm on Sunday, May 5, and fined after he refused to disembark the aircraft.

Police spokesperson Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said in a press release on Monday that members of the Alpha Team stationed at Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) were called on board the Delta Airline plane to intervene in a matter involving a passenger who had been behaving “very aggressively.” The plane had been preparing to depart to Atlanta, Georgia.

The captain of the aircraft refused to allow the suspect to take that flight to Atlanta and requested his removal from the flight. “The suspect was severely under the influence of alcohol and refused to disembark at which time he was removed by the officers using minimal force,” Henson said. He was taken to the Philipsburg Police headquarters to sober up and was fined US $500. He is waiting for arrangements to be made for his deportation.
