PHILIPSBURG–Head of the Dutch Representation on St. Maarten VNP Chris Johnson recently paid a working visit to the Netherlands.
While there he had several meetings concerning current bilateral issues between St. Maarten and the Netherlands, including meetings with officials from the Ministry of Public Health, Welfare and Sport VWS, and the Netherlands Investment Agency NIA located in the financial district of Amsterdam-South.
Johnson also paid visits to the St. Maarten House, where he met with Acting Minister Plenipotentiary Hasani Ellis. While there they discussed Kingdom Relations, current St. Maarten issues, and the political realities of The Hague.
Johnson said he offered his assistance in any insight needed as to the inner workings of The Hague based on his decade of experience involved in relations between the Dutch Government and the Dutch Caribbean.
During his deliberations with caretaker Minister of Security and Justice Stef Blok, Johnson discussed the upcoming judicial consultations JVO between the Ministers of Justice of the Netherlands, Aruba, Curaçao and St. Maarten, which are scheduled to be held in St. Maarten on July 10 and July 11.
