MARIGOT–Mission Global Association recently presented the Original Music Festival themed “Nobody Greater” to several youngsters and youth groups on the Marigot waterfront. The talent and skills displayed were dynamic, exciting and well received, according to a press release from the association.

Several motivational speakers encouraged the youth to practise responsible and safe behaviour, and not live recklessly. Attending parents were reminded to continue praying for the youths of St. Martin/St. Maarten and to not give up on their children.

“The Lord is faithful to do what He promises to do. God is never late. He always shows up on time. We are here to reach out and assist young people in counselling in any way we can, because, “It takes a village to raise a child,” said project coordinator Pastor Esmond Fleming.

“Those in attendance danced, sang along and rooted for the talented Shekinah Gumbs, Shemiah Gumbs and Makiba Gumbs, among others, and the skilled expressions of guest artists such as Pastor Rafelin, the Apostle and the African Steppers Group.

“The audience stood in solid agreement to motivate the youths to respect parents at home and those in authority within the community at large; study hard for proper education to earn a degree, build their lives positively and turn totally to the right way of thinking. Greatness is in God and there is nobody greater!”

Further, as part of the event, several spiritual leaders prayed for the youths, the government, the economy, the prosperity of the nation, and for good weather to grace us during the hurricane season.

This event was made possible through a subvention from the Collectivité and faithful sponsors; local youth participation; guest artistes; motivational speakers and other presenters; stage crew; musicians; distinct community leaders; radio stations; vendors; the planning and organising committee and the audience.

“We say a big ‘thank you’ to all for your support as we continue to reach out to youths of our community with talents and skills to be displayed in a neighbourhood near you,” added Fleming.

The “Nobody Greater” Original Music Festival project is coming soon to Grand Case, French Quarter and Sandy Ground.
