Entire Central Bank Board asked to quit

WILLEMSTAD – All five members of the Supervisory Board of the Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten (CBCS) have been requested to make their position available, said Curacao’s Minister of Finance Kenneth Gijsbertha. They have the option to do this on their own or to be dismissed in accordance with a decision of the Council of Ministers of both countries in the monetary union. Robert Pietersz and Hubert Lopez had previously submitted their resignation just before the anticipated enforced departure. However, the three other members remained. The reason for this move is a mutual breach of trust and failure to enforce requests from the shareholder representatives.
