Port St. Maarten
MIRAMAR, Florida–The Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) recently announced the opening of its online auction. Running until Friday, August 23, the auction features discounts on 14 cruise vacations valued at more than US $55,000.
The auction is an initiative to make regional summer cruising even hotter for trade professionals while also supporting humanitarian needs in Latin America and the Caribbean.
“We could not be more grateful to our member lines for donating these cruises and continuing to support the FCCA Foundation’s mission,” said FCCA President Michele Paige. “While this initiative is always rewarding because of its benefit for the foundation, we are also proud to now use the auction to highlight summer cruising in the Caribbean. By moving the initiative earlier, our trade partners can experience the options in the Caribbean as well as the competition around the world.”
Normally taking place during the FCCA Cruise Conference and Trade Show, the largest and only official cruise tourism conference and trade show in the Caribbean, the FCCA online auction has been moved up by a few months to exhibit summer cruising in the Caribbean to FCCA’s trade partners. This year’s FCCA Cruise Conference and Trade Show will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, October 21-25.
Open until 12:00pm Friday and accessible to anyone with a valid e-mail address, the auction features a total of 14 cruises with a total value of more than $55,000. Bids will start at half the value and buy-it-now prices with 25 per cent savings.
Options include Caribbean cruises for two on Carnival Cruise Line, Disney Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Royal Caribbean International and Virgin Voyages; a 10-day Classical Empires Voyage for two on Oceania Cruises; a seven-night Trekking the Tongass Cruise on Regent Seven Seas Cruises; a seven-night Western Mediterranean cruise for two in a veranda stateroom on Costa Cruises; any voyage for two on Azamara Cruises; and a host of options for seven-day cruises for two in balcony staterooms onboard Norwegian Encore and a Princess Cruises Ocean Medallion Vacation.
Most cruises have a wide range of booking options and dates available, with limited blackouts.
All cruises were donated by FCCA member lines, with proceeds going to the FCCA Foundation, a non-profit, charitable organisation that supports humanitarian needs in Latin America and the Caribbean. Since its inception in 1995, it has promoted various projects such as annual scholastic competitions that award scholarships, and provided assistance to institutions such as hospitals and orphanages. It has also contributed to disaster relief initiatives.
