Fire at Central True Value hardware store | THE DAILY HERALD

The St. Maarten Fire Department was sent to Central True Value hardware store on Bush Road shortly after 6:00pm Thursday because of a fire in the building. Dark smoke was seen pouring out of the aluminium shutters that barred the entrances to the three-storey building. Firefighters had to break down the shutters of a back door to gain access to the building. According to Fire Officer in Charge Silvanico Pauletta, it took about an hour to get the fire under control because of the building’s large size. No one was injured in this incident and the cause of the fire remained unknown up to press time Thursday night. However, “The Daily Herald” understands the St. Maarten Police Force KPSM will be conducting a forensic investigation.
