A fire broke out late Saturday morning on E. Camille Richardson Street in Philipsburg. The fire was contained to that particular location and two individuals were affected by the smoke.

PHILIPSBURG--A fire at a business establishment on E. Camille Richardson Street was contained by firefighters on Saturday morning, October 3. St. Maarten Police Force KPSM Police Dispatch was notified of the fire at about 10:15am, after which the Fire Department was immediately dispatched to the location.

On arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke coming from the building. They quickly began firefighting operations and successfully contained the blaze, preventing it from spreading and causing further damage.

Two individuals were treated at the scene by ambulance personnel for smoke inhalation. Their injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening, and they received medical attention. The cause of the fire remains unknown and is under investigation by the Fire Department.

KPSM commended the emergency responders involved for their swift and coordinated response to the incident and for their efforts to ensure the safety of those at the scene.
