Firefighters contain fire at air-conditioner warehouse | THE DAILY HERALD

COLE BAY–Residents in the Orange Grove area noticed clouds of smoke coming from H-VAC Air-conditioning on Sunday at 6:30am. Firefighters rushed to the warehouse and saw a large fire coming from inside the building.

Police officers arrived shortly afterward and started to clear the area, allowing firefighters to put out the blaze. The warehouse was mainly used to store air-conditioning units, maintenance equipment and materials. Police said the cause of the fire is unknown.
“Due to toxic smoke and fumes, residents in the area were advised to close all windows of their home or to temporarily leave the area to avoid the inhalation of the smoke. The police had to close off several streets and diverted traffic in other directions,” according to police on Sunday.

The Fire Department successfully contained the fire, not allowing it to spread to other nearby warehouses. At 10:00am, the fire was contained and posed no danger to surrounding buildings. Residents were allowed to return to their homes and traffic was again allowed to flow normally. No one was injured during this fire.
