SIMPSON BAY– Youth coach Dagmar Daal and U15 St. Maarten national player Michele Palella traveled to Belgium for the Progress Sports Summer Soccer Camp Saturday. During the Oualichi International Summer Soccer Camp that took place last year, Palella won a spot to train at the professional Belgian football camp.
The camp will consist of a week of trainings and social activities that will end on Friday, August 19. Local and International coaches are part of the program and Daal, head youth coach for Oualichi, will be among the coaches who will be exchanging knowledge and expertise and training the athletes.
This is the first time the Oualichi Women’s Soccer Association sends a player and a coach as part of their program to develop local players and also to have a platform for female coaches to progress in the football world.
Alejandra Corona won a camp spot during the recent Oualichi summer soccer camp will be the first female youth player that Oualichi will send to Belgium next year.
