Five past first responder training

PHILIPSBURG–Five  members of National Sports Institute (NSI)  and Foundation Upkeep Sports Facilites  staff successfully complete an Emergency First Response Course.

  The training was conducted by Sandra Volard-Kruis, a  certified Emergency First Response Trainer
over a period of two days.  The classes lasted four hours each day with an examination at the end.
  The training consisted of scene assessment, barrier use, primary assessment, chest compressions, chest compressions with rescue breathing, automated external defibrillator use, serious bleeding management, shock management, spinal injury management and conscious/unconscious choking adult.
  The certification is good for one year. A refresher course can be done to maintain the certification.
