MARIGOT–The former Principal of the Lycée in Concordia, Philippe Bon (69), passed away on Tuesday, his son disclosed to the media. Bon died from health complications.
“It is with deep emotion that I learned Tuesday evening of the sudden death of Philippe Bon,” said President Daniel Gibbs in a condolence message. “As former principal of the Lycée Polyvalent des Iles du Nord, Philippe was appreciated for his human, educational and professional qualities.
“The students of the high school and also the teaching staff retained an excellent memory of him. Philippe Bon made it a point of honour to see the young people of St. Martin succeed.
“After a very successful career, he had decided to enjoy a well-deserved retirement on his island of Marie-Galante. He kept very good friends in St. Martin and will remain forever in our collective memory as a friend of Saint-Martin.
“The elected representatives of the Territorial Council of St. Martin join me in expressing our very sincere condolences to his family, his loved ones and all those who accompanied him along his rich and singular journey. In these painful circumstances, I wish them courage to overcome this ordeal.”
