PHILIPSBURG–GEBE announced on Thursday that one of its largest engines would be down for a scheduled maintenance repair which is expected to be completed by Monday July 25.
Currently all engines are running optimally. No load shedding is expected during this maintenance period. The company does caution consumers that, should any other engine develop any issues during this maintenance period, there might be a possibility of a brief load shedding schedule that will be announced.
The weekends are chosen for these types of maintenance repairs as this is the period where the demand is less than during a work week. The power plant maintenance crew will be working extended hours in order to reduce the time to have the unit back online as soon as possible.
