PHILIPSBURG–Utilities company GEBE said on Monday that some of its invoices that were sent to clients via email have an incorrect due date, which has since been corrected.
In a press release, GEBE said the incorrect due date was on a number of invoices. “The management informs that this has since been corrected and that the corrected invoices will be emailed to the customers,” the release stated. GEBE apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused by the error.
The Daily Herald understands that some of the incorrect invoices are dated December 5, 2017, while the due date is listed as January 4, 2018 and the consumption period is listed to end as of January 5, 2018, an entire month after the issue date on the bill and one day after the due date.
While GEBE only pointed out an incorrect due date on the invoices, some customers are perplexed to know how the consumption period on their invoices is listed as being after the date of their invoices, which is after the date that their meter has been read and after the due date for them to pay their bills.
In its press release, GEBE also reminded customers that its Customer Care and Cashier Sections in Philipsburg, are open for business from 7:45am to 3:00pm. The public will be served at the Management Building using the entrance located on Cannegieter Street. Entrance from W.J.A. Nisbeth Road is also available using a gate leading through the GEBE car park to the entrance on Cannegieter Street. Once at the location, customers will be guided accordingly.
GEBE said it will have an operational structure in place to make its clients’ experience at the temporary facilities as comfortable as possible. GEBE’s Call Centre hours have also been extended to 11:00pm. The Call Centre can be reached at tel. 546-1100, 546-1127, 546-1160, 546-1193 and 544-3100. After 11:00pm all calls will be directed to the power plant personnel.
