GEBE to spend NAf. 9,950,981 for underground trench work

PHILIPSBURG–Utilities company GEBE is expected to fork out NAf. 9.9 million for trench works for its underground low voltage cabling over a five-year period from 2017 to 2021.

Figures provided in a PowerPoint presentation the company delivered during a recent press conference showed the projected cost of trench works conducted from after Hurricane Irma up to 2021.

According to the figures, the trench work conducted after Irma in 2017 cost NAf. 1.323,405 million for a total of 7,789 metres of trench work. This represented 19 per cent of the trench work to be conducted over a five-year period and 2.6 per cent of the overall trench work to be conducted.

NAf. 2,291,909 is expected to be spent on trench work this year, with 9,069 metres expected to be laid representing 22 per cent of the trench work over a five-year period and three per cent of the overall trench work.

A total of NAf. 2,141,794 is expected to be spent in 2019, when 8,475 metres is expected to be laid representing 20 per cent of the trench work over a five-year period and 2.8 per cent of the overall trench work.

NAf. 2,125,367 is expected to be spent on trench work in 2020, when 8,410 metres is expected to be laid representing 20 per cent of the trench work over a five-year period and 2.8 per cent of the overall trench work.

And NAf 2,068,506 is expected to be ploughed into trench work in 2021, when 8,185 metres is expected to be laid representing 20 per cent of the trench work to be done over a five-year period and 2.7 per cent of the overall trench work to be conducted.

This brings the total expected to be spent on trench work from 2017 to 2021 to NAf. 9,950,981 when a total of 41,928 metres of low-voltage underground trench work is expected to be conducted.
