Gendarmes seeking car driver who gave Pierrick Briere a lift

MARIGOT–Gendarmes are once again appealing for help from the public, this time in the Pierrick Briere homicide case.

Pierrick Briere (30) was found dead on the Grande Cayes Beach by walkers on Sunday, July 3. His body was found on the rocks, dressed only in underwear and with one shoe.

His death has remained a mystery up to now, hampered by no video surveillance in a remote location and lack of witness testimony. However, the ongoing investigation can now reveal that he was hitchhiking at the Hope Estate roundabout at 8:15pm Saturday, July 2.

Gendarmes are appealing to the car driver who may have picked up Pierrick to get in touch with the Gendarmerie immediately. Anyone with information about this case can call the emergency number 17 or go directly to the Gendarmerie in La Savane. Anonymity is guaranteed.

Meanwhile the “green brigade” of workers normally clearing Sargassum seaweed is assisting the Gendarmerie by scouring Grand Cayes Beach for any evidence or clues that can help the investigation. Some 15 people were working on the beach voluntarily on Monday.
