Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrated in Anguilla 1st time | THE DAILY HERALD

ANGUILLA–For the first time Anguilla is observing Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) with a number of events and activities. The week is a celebration of innovators who dream big and launch start-ups that bring ideas to life. It takes place each November and reaches millions of people through local, national and global events and activities. It connects participants to a network that can help them take the next step on their entrepreneurial journey.

The week in Anguilla is being organised by the Anguilla Youth Business Foundation (AYBF) and will focus on women, youth, inclusion and ecosystem connect. It started with a church service at the Christian Fellowship Church, on Sunday, November 11. Today, Monday, there will be an opportunity for live chat with Njeri Richardson-Carty at Branches of Learning and this will be followed on Tuesday and Thursday with candid live discussions with entrepreneurs through live streaming on Facebook.

Also on Tuesday there will be a networking reception with a focus on Business Mentorship at Flavours Restaurant. On Wednesday the AYBF business mentors will hold an orientation at the Teachers’ Resource Centre. At the same location on Thursday evening there will be an open mic session with the theme “Doing Business in Anguilla; Creating and Sustaining an Enabling Environment.”

On Friday evening there will be an entrepreneurship development and small business development training programme and certificate ceremony and reception at the Teachers’ Resource Centre.
