SIMPSON BAY–Carnival troupe pioneer Gordon Yee is back again for his 22nd year participating in Carnival. “Come Dance with Me” is the theme for his eight-section troupe. He also plans to present the customary individual pieces with queen costumes.
Gordon Yee Productions was the winner of the 2016 Grand Parade and intends to defend the title this year. “Yes, I am back and we’ve already started preparing the costumes. There were rumours out there saying that I will not be coming out this year, but they are just rumours and I guarantee the revellers that I am coming out this year,” said Yee.
Sponsors Absolute Vodka, Malibu, Island Spirits and KFC have already committed to the troupe and Yee hopes to attract more sponsors before the big fete in April. The mas camp will be located in Simpson Bay this year behind Bada Bing close to the Karakter Beach sign.
“I will launch this year’s costumes on February 20 at a location that will soon be announced. I am excited this year, because the troupe will be filled with colours of the Caribbean and the theme ‘Come Dance with Me’ invites true Carnival-lovers to come out and jam on the road with us,” Yee told The Daily Herald.
Interested persons can call the mas camp at 580-5619.
