Government ministers to rent cars no longer | THE DAILY HERALD

ANGUILLA–Minister of Infrastructure, Communications and Housing, Curtis Richardson told The Daily Herald that from January 1, ministers of government will no longer be allowed to rent cars. He said that since Hurricane Irma the ministers were renting cars because of their damaged vehicles, but from now they will have to make their own arrangements for vehicles until a new policy is formulated.

“Ministers will have to sort out their own transportation until the institution of government can bring a resolution to this matter,” he said. “As of January 1, 2019, no minister will be allowed to drive a rental vehicle.” He said there had been several attempts through the procurement board and other means for government to purchase the rental vehicles they had been using, but those failed so the rental arrangements have been stopped as the cost incurred is too high.
