Government workers won’t budge | THE DAILY HERALD

Curaçao’s public sector unions continued their protest action on Wednesday and headed for the Council of Ministers in Fort Amsterdam.

There they handed a letter to Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath demanding payment of the annual indexation, periodic increase and 3-per-cent lumpsum for civil servants at the maximum of their salary scale.

They also want their vacation allowance and other secondary benefits to remain untouched as the Dutch Caribbean country’s government struggles to balance its 2019 budget and prevent a financial instruction from the Kingdom Council of Ministers in The Hague.
