High seas

The severe and unusual sea conditions impacted cargo and cruise operations of Dr. A.C. Wathey Cruise and Cargo Facilities and the Cole Bay fuel depot on Monday.

Cargo vessels berthed at piers in both locations were advised by harbour authorities to head out to sea as precaution against high, rough swells. Severe sea conditions around the island are expected to continue on Tuesday. A small craft and high surf warning, issued by the Met Office, remains in effect for the country.  Hazardous sea conditions are forecast to persist for the next several days as northwest to northerly swells continue to affect the Caribbean.
