PHILIPSBURG–Issues with utility company GEBE’s high-tension grid resulted in power interruptions in several areas on Tuesday.
The power went in various districts after 11:00am. GEBE media relations officer Paula Gordon said the company had been experiencing issues on its high-tension grid. She said a team had been on location at GEBE’s substation to rectify the problem.
“Some cables are being restored. We anticipate that the area of St. John’s will take more time for the issue to be rectified,” Gordon had said soon after the outage.
While power had been restored to some areas, the power to others including Dutch Quarter remained out for a lengthy period.
