Hold on to your roots

Importance of St. Maarten heritage and ways everyone, old and young, can help, respect and preserve it were the focus of a recently presentation by resident archaeologist Jay Haviser to pupils of St. Dominic Primary School’s Class 5A-5B.

Haviser, Director of St. Maarten Archaeological Center Simarc spoke to pupils on the invitation of teachers Mirla Cortico and Kimberly Duzong. He hopes the information he shared would inspire this younger generation to appreciate and preserve what has still survived of the local heritage.
