PHILIPSBURG–The concept of home sharing was discussed during the first in a series of conferences to be hosted by Le Grand Solutions under the theme “Acres of Diamonds.”

The first conference was held at Simpson Bay Resort, August 20-21.

“Home sharing is exactly what the name suggests – turning your available property, which can be from a couch, tent, apartment, or tree house to a palace, according to Airbnb, into a short-term rental,” it was stated in a press release. “Once someone can sleep with a roof over their heads, you’re in business.”

Participants received information on this trending industry, during the conference. “We focused on the key elements for success in this industry including, start-up requirements, government regulations, best practices, up selling, trends, targeted marketing and all other relevant information. Whether you are a property owner or not, working full time, self-employed or unemployed, home sharing can be a viable solution for you to create an additional source of income, with little to no prior experience.”

The release said the Airbnb (air, bed and breakfast) industry has grown significantly since 2010, with rapid growth being seen through the Caribbean.

Le Grand Solutions said it is committed to hosting one conference per month in this series. “We are dedicated to presenting holistic approaches to creating wealth from unearth treasures in our people, our homes, our communities and our surroundings.”

The next conference will be held on World Tourism Day, September 27. COSME, the programme for small and medium-size enterprises, is the primary sponsor of the conferences.
