Homicide and rape suspects both flown out to Bonaire

ST. EUSTATIUS–Homicide suspect J.C.S.S. and rape suspect Z.P. were both transferred to Bonaire on Wednesday afternoon. The Marechaussee, members of the police Force Caribbean Netherlands KPCN from St. Eustatius and Bonaire coordinated the transfer of the two detainees.

Colombian national J.C.S.S. is a suspect in the homicide of his 24-year-old female partner. His flight departed at 1:40pm.

Rape suspect Z.P., born in the former Yugoslavia in 1957, is a suspect in the rape and indecent assault of a woman employed by St. Eustatius Health Care Foundation.

The owner of the house in which J.C.S.S. and his partner were found described what happened during the night of the homicide. He said while he and friends were partying at a bar, one of the tenants at the house said he was going home.

A short while later, the tenant returned to the bar and stated that when he came at the house he saw two persons lying on the floor in a pool of blood. When they saw that they called the police. Upon arrival at the scene of the crime, the police officer on duty asked everyone to leave the house and called for backup.

When the suspect boarded the aircraft at F.D. Roosevelt Airport on Wednesday afternoon, colleagues of the men were heard yelling his name. He then turned and looked. A crowd of people were lining the airport fence from the top of the hill all the way down.
